On 8th September, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Morocco –the most severe in 120 years. More than 2,000 people have lost their lives and the number injured is increasing by the hour as aftershocks continue.

Oxfam is working with local partners to assess the needs of the people on the ground.

In more than 80 countries around the world – from East Africa, to Syria, to Yemen – Oxfam is working with partners to urgently respond when disaster strikes, saving lives and helping communities to rebuild.

Your gift to Oxfam Ireland's Emergency Fund will go directly toward our emergency work, present and future, to locate survivors and provide essentials like food, clean water and cash.

Whatever the cause, conflict and disaster always hit the poorest hardest, as they struggle to insulate themselves from the worst effects.

We work with communities before, during and after crises to build resilience, protect and save lives and, together, address the root causes of conflict and disaster.

Please lend your support now so we can continue this vital work, now and into the future.
